Senior Computational Designer - 12 month fixed term contract
Shape digital engineering at BWB. Use Revit, Dynamo and Python to build smarter design workflows, automate modelling and turn engineering data into coordinated BIM models.
Turn engineering intelligence into smarter design.
Are you passionate about parametric design, automation and the possibilities of digital engineering? Join BWB Consulting and help shape how we turn engineering data and design rules into coordinated BIM models.
Reporting to our Digital Innovation Lead, you’ll develop computational workflows that connect engineering expertise with practical design delivery. From creating Dynamo scripts to integrating Python tools into Revit, your work will reduce repetitive tasks, improve consistency and give our teams more time to focus on solving engineering challenges.
About BWB
At BWB Consulting, we’re more than engineers – we’re trusted partners, innovators, and problem-solvers. Recognised as ACE Best Large Consultancy of the Year 2022 and proudly accredited with Investors in People and Investors in Wellbeing, our award-winning culture is built on excellence, collaboration, and sustainability. We push boundaries to deliver exceptional results for our clients – and create meaningful impact for the communities we serve.
What you’ll be doing
Developing smarter design tools: Design, build, test and maintain Dynamo and Python scripts that automate repetitive modelling and design tasks.
Connecting code with engineering: Work closely with software developers, engineers and BIM teams to translate technical requirements into reliable tools for everyday Revit production.
Turning data into models: Develop workflows that clean, structure and feed engineering data, rules and parameters directly into BIM models.
Delivering coordinated outputs: Ensure automated models meet project standards, BIM execution plans and multidisciplinary coordination requirements.
Building confidence across our teams: Support and mentor colleagues as they adopt computational design and automation tools.
Exploring what comes next: Evaluate emerging technologies, plugins and methods, turning promising ideas into practical improvements.
What you’ll bring
You’ll combine strong technical skills with curiosity, clear communication and a practical approach to solving problems. We’re looking for:
Advanced, hands-on proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Dynamo.
Strong Python scripting skills, including experience with the Revit API or Dynamo Python nodes.
Advanced Excel skills and experience cleaning, manipulating and structuring engineering datasets.
Demonstrated experience developing parametric modelling frameworks and deploying computational workflows within an architecture, engineering, construction or technology-integrated environment.
The ability to explain complex coding and technical concepts clearly to engineers, BIM colleagues and project managers.
A collaborative approach, with the confidence to understand user needs, challenge existing processes and help others adopt new ways of working.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to influence how digital design develops at BWB. You’ll work alongside engineering and technology specialists, take ownership of meaningful automation projects and see your ideas applied to real design challenges.
