What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of a team that delivers design, assessment, inspection, construction support and management services across an exciting variety of rail projects. From feasibility studies to detailed design, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of UK rail.

Day to day:

• Produce high-quality technical outputs that set the standard.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to deliver drawings, reports, and specifications on time and to programme.
• Undertake essential design work – calculations, design reviews, risk assessments – with the support of a skilled team.
• Take ownership of technical challenges and resolve engineering issues.
• Scope and oversee surveys to gather the insight needed for robust solutions.
• Work with leading clients such as Network Rail, HS2, HS1, TfL, TfGM, and major Tier 1 contractors.
• Contribute to the growth of the team through bidding, line management, and business improvement activities.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience in Rail Civils and Structures, across the full project lifecycle.
• A track record of taking on Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) roles, or the ambition to develop further in this area with our support.
• Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations.
• A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil Engineering or related subject accredited by the Engineering Council.
• Chartered Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (or working towards it).
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects from concept through to detailed design.
• Working knowledge of legislation and industry standards including DMRB, British Standards, Eurocodes and relevant Codes of Practice.
