What you’ll be doing 

• A combination of site-based and office-based tasks. Working on a range of interesting and often complex schemes.
• Undertaking allocated tasks in relation to Phase I and Phase II ground investigations and assessment.
• Remediation activities, including (office and site-based) coordination and communication with BWB colleagues and sub-contractors.
• Supervision of ground investigations (which can be local or nationwide).
• Logging of exploratory holes and ground conditions.
• Soil and water sampling, monitoring, and keeping good quality site/daily records.
• Compiling and reviewing desk-study information.
• Scheduling of laboratory testing.
• Data compilation, processing, analytics, and reviewing.
• Geo-environmental assessment and reporting.
• Managing tasks and elements of large complex projects as well as small specialist ones.
• Overseeing site work and construction ground-work operations.

What you’ll bring 

• Two + years of experience as a Geo-environmental Consultant or site investigation experience. 

• A relevant degree such as Environmental Science, Geography and Geology, Engineering Geology, and Environmental Geology. 

• Ideally a Masters’ degree in a relevant field, although not essential. 

• Good IT skills and knowledge of MS Office suite and ideally relevant industry software, although training is provided. 

• Experience servicing both internal and external clients.

• Strong report writing skills. 

• Keen to share your ideas about how we can do things better. 

• Highly organised and technically competent

• Great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience - academically, socially and in any previous work situations. 

• Enthusiasm and ambition to develop and progress. 

• A can-do problem-solving attitude. 

• Personal organisation skills, and the ability to work well within a team.

• Willing to accept challenges for what they are and thrive within a growing and diverse engineering environment.
